One of the primary functions of the OPFSC website is to provide a clearinghouse of information for Oak Park residents to educate themselves regarding prevention and protection from wildfire. We provide this information in four ways:
- We share with you many of the partner agencies and organizations that we work with, and in many cases provide links to important information on their websites.
- We provide a Frequently Asked Questions section that will answer many of the questions residents have. We will update this section frequently as new questions are submitted
- We provide and maintain a video library with educational videos that cover many areas of fire prevention, protection and Firewise recognition. Watching these videos helps the community qualify for Firewise recognition (volunteer hours), and those hours are automatically captured by this website.
- We provide and maintain a document library with many wildfire-related educational materials. Again, time spent reading these materials qualifies for Firewise recognition. You would simply go to the “Submit Volunteer Hours” tab of this website, and record the hours you spent.
Please let us know if there are additional information, documents or videos you would like to see on this site.
