Emergency: Call 911

If you have an emergency call 911.

During an active emergency, Ventura County’s Office of Emergency Services works alongside fire and law enforcement partners to determine evacuations zones in real time based on current conditions, fire behavior, weather, road access, and threats to life and property.

Community members are encouraged to stay informed by signing up for VC Alert notifications, which is used to communicate life safety messaging to specific areas. Register today at www.vcalert.org.

VCEmergency.com is the County’s emergency website for communicating up-to-date emergency information on active incidents.

While public safety is dedicated to protecting community members in a disaster, the key to whole community resilience comes down to individual preparedness. There is a website dedicated to educational information on disaster preparedness: www.readyventuracounty.org.

Wildfires are now a year-round reality in Ventura County.

This means that both firefighters and residents have to be on heightened alert for the threat of wildfire at all times. Firefighters train hard and make countless preparations to face these important challenges, and residents should do the same. Successful preparation means doing all you can to make your home resistant to wildfires and prepare your family to leave safely and on short notice.

We call this process, “Ready, Set, Go!”, a program developed by the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
